NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP. .WON BY MASON. (Per Press Association — Copyright.) DUNEDIN, September 25. The final'of the New Zealand Amateur Billiard Championship, played .yesterday, was won by C. Mason (Dunedin), who defeated A, 1 Bewie (Dunedin) by 1500 to 1250.

Mason quickly took the lead, and he was never headed, but Bowie got dangerously close to him at times, and never ceased to fight. The game was interesting all the way, and both gave fine exhibitions of billiards, Mason specialising in cannons and Bowie in in-off shots.

Mason’s best breaks <were 63, 54, 49, 45, 44, 42 and 40 ; and Bowie’s best were 58, 55, 64, 53, 45 and 44.
