OBITUARY

The death occurred suddenly at her late residence, Ruru, yesterday of Mr& Florence Maud Glover, aged 46 years. Sh© was a native of Melbourne and is survived by her husband, George, three daughters, Mrs Weaver, Rangiora: Rita, of Ruru, and Una, of Wellington, and two sons, Ken, of tha P.i and T. Department, Greymouth and Jack, of Ruru.

Word has been received from Wellington of the death there last Friday, after a long illness, of Miss Mary Margaret (Mamie) Gormerly, at one time a/ pupil of the Greymouth Convent, and later a probationary teacher' at Cobden State School. The late> Miss Gormerly made many friends om the W T est Coast, who will learn with regret of her death.

The death occurred last evening -at the residence of his daughter, Mrs Jaa Mettrick, Stratford .•'’Greymouth, of Mr W. J. Rivers, for many years a resident of Reefton. The deceased gentleman had been' confined to his bed for some time. He spent many years in Reefton, having been interested in mining and in later years conducted a private hotel and confectionary business. He was a native of Dunedin and 66 years of age.. Besides his widow' he leaves one son, Mr F. W. Rivers, of Christchurch, and five daughters, Mrs Toomey (Hokitika), Mrs J. Mettrick (Greymouth)', Mrs P. Kennedy (Totara Flat), Mrs D. Hunt (Greymouth), and Miss E. Rivers (Reefton).
