LABOUR PARTY CAUCUS. (Per Press Association — Copyright.)

WELLINGTON, September 22. The Labour* Party Caucus, this morning, passed resolutions of sympathy. with the widow of Hon. E. A. Clarke, M.L.C., with Mr A. F. Hawke in the loss of his wife, and Sir Ohailes Statham in the loss of his mother.

The Caucus also passed a resolution congratulating the Christchurch City Council on its capable and efficient administration, especially with regard to the maintenance of the wage standard and working conditions for empoyees. The new member for Southern Maori, Mr Tirikatere, was not present.

The Caucus decided that the Party, should move a no-confidence amendment to the Address-in-Reply motion.

RACING SECRETARY CHARGED AUCKLAND, September 22.

Arrested in the city this afternoon, Frederick Deuchar McVay, until recently, secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club, appeared later in the Police Court, before Mr Hunt, S.M., on two charges of theft. He was charged with stealing from the Club . £204 5s lOd between July 1931 and June 1832, and also with stealing £9 on June Ist, 1932. One the application of DeteciveSergeant McHugh, the accused was remanded until Monday. Counsel for the accused sa : d that he did not intend toj ask for bail. On Monday, the accused would plead guilty to* all of the charges, and would facilitate the case.
