BOXING
an easy win, (Australian Press Association.) (Received + bis day at 9.25 am) MELBOURNE, 'Sept. 23. At the Stadium, Young Stribling, 13.8, had little difficulty in outpointing Johnny Freeman, 13.3, in a fifteen round bout, A large crowd was disrappointed at the onesidedness, and repeatedly counted out the boxers. Freeman was well trained! and looked like holding his own until .the sixth, vyhen IStribling, in characteristic, confident style leading with the left to excellent purpose, and wasting no punches, did exactly as he liked, constantly driving Freeman to the ropes and whipping under or over his guard, lightning like lefts which told a tale. Freeman could do no more than smother, or drop into clinches, in order to escape more severe punishment. iStribling created 1 his usual impression that he was fighting “a cold fight,” not desiring a knock out. He certainly is a most difficult opponent. He fights with supreme confidence and vim, and erect bearing.
