Rear Admiral Wukwangtsung, chief of the hydrographic department of the Chinese Navy, was assassinated to-day. Four gunmen herded his family into a small room, wherein they were locked, rushed to an upstairs bedroom, and shot him dead. The motive is unrevealed, though five years ago a similar attempt was made, when a shot shattered his front teeth.
