DUNEDIN, September 21

The New Zealand amateur billiards championship was continued to-day, when the first round was concluded andi the second commenced. P. M. Keppell (Milton) beat W. Legal (Dunedin) by 666 to 595, in a close game in which, neither displayed championship, form.. The holder of the title Angus Duncan (Wellington) beat A. L. Hood (Milton) easily by 066 .to 382, al% though the latter played 7 doggedly, when well down. The first game of the second round! was between A. Bowie (Duned'n) and E. N. Stewart ( Dunedin), in which the former had a comfortable" win by 666 to 377. Bowie’s score included, breaks of 112 and 57, and Stewart’s a. good 68.■
