CONCLUSION OF MANOEUVRES (Per Press Association — Copyright.) AUCKLAND, September 20. A high standard of efficiency was attained by the cruisers Diomede and Dunedin during their gunnery exercises and manoeuvres, carried out in Hauraki Gulf, during the past week. The cruisers returned to port to-day with the sloop Veronica, which assisted in towing the battle practice target during the past two days. Rough seas prevailed at timqs, adding to the value of the work done. The target broke away from the Dunedin on one occasion, the mooring line passing itnde>’neat!b the cruiser. The line crossed the propellor blades, but it did not foul them. It was cleared by divers, after arduous work.
