Mr Forhe-s said that certain of the economies recommended by the Economy Committee will be given effect, to .when .the estimates atre '•nought forward. A large part of these could not b e brought into operation immediately, as the year was well advanced already, but provision would be made for some saving to be made immediately, and whatever could be achieved this far in the way of further reducing Government expenditure would be done.
