MR COATES’ RETURN

FROM OTTAWA ARRIVAL TO-MORROW MORNING (Per Press Association — Copyright.) WELLINGTON, September 16. The liner Monowai has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at Wellington in the stream at 9.30 a.nj. on Sunday. She should berth between 10 and 10.30 a.m. With the exception of Mr Downie Stewart, who is in London, there will be a full muster of Cabinet Ministers to welcome Mr Coates, on Sunday morning. Several Ministers have been away from Wellington recently, but they will have returned t.o the capital by to-morrow morning.

The Prime Minister arrived from the south to-morrow morning after a week’s absence, and he will be accompanied by the Minister of Lands, Mr who has. been in Canterbury on official business* The Minister of Agriculture, Mn Macmillan, will return to Wellington from Taranaki tomorrow morning. The Prime Minister and; his colleagues, with others will go out to the Monowai in the stream in the Government steamer “Jane Seddon, M Both Mr Contes and Mr Gußet'-HaVe - Roeepted invitations to nttend a lunch* eon being given by the Chamber of Commerce on Monday, and the speak*, ers will include Mr R. W. Dalton, formerly His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, and, now Trade Commissioner in Australia, and Mr J. W. Knox, president of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce, who was at Ottawa during the Conference.

Official advice has been received thaij Mr D. Jones, 1 Chairman of the Meat Board; and Mr H. E. Napier, Fruit Board representative at the Conference are returning by the Monowai, but it is not lcnowii definitely whether any of the other trade advisers are on board.

A civic reception will be given to Mr Coat,es in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. This gathering will} be of particular interest; as Mr Coates has intimated by wireless, that} he Will reserve his main statement concerning the Ottawa Conference until the speeches on Tuesday evening.
