CANBERRA, September 16. 1 The Federal Government's intention to reduce the’ maximum allowance payable on old ’age pensioners by 2/6 to 15/- weekly having caused dissatrsfactldn within tlie Government ranks, the Prune Minister ,now announces that the maximum of 17/6 wiil not be--dis-turbed where it can be shown that the recipients are solely dependent upon the pension, but where the pensioners’ children are able to contribute to their parents’ sustenance, the Goveriiment will insist on the pension cut.
