NAPIER, September 14, Severe head injuries, including con. mission, from which he died at Napier Hospital to-night, were sustained this morning by a seaman, J. Mclntyre, when he fell down No. 2 hold of the Shaw Savill vessel Otira, shortly after she left Napier roadstead for New Ply* mouth. The ship returned to Nbpffir, and,,the injured man was sent to. the Napier Hospital, where he died to-night. V“.

INFANT DROWNED. , NEW PLYMOUTH, September 14. Jessie Warrender, the three-year-old daughter of George Warrender of Eltham, was drowned in a stream at the back of the home this afternoon. With her small brother she was paddling in the -stream, when she was washed away. The body was recovered 1 half a mile downstream.
