There is evidence on all sides in America, that returning confidence in inducing a freer expenditure which is the one thing that is definitely going to cum unemployment. Confidence is the keystone of the whole social, industrial, and financial fabric. The depression was brought about because ’through variety of circumstances people lost that confidence, became nervous aiid spent less or not at all, preferring to Wait for better times, There is now definitely a brighter; ou’tlook in the world. The fear of worse times coming is gone, let us hope never to return. The outlook is brighter, and at last people are no longer afraid of spending. “I am going back, to Australia ten times more confident and happy ’than when I went away six months ago,” said Mr Myer. “It is now up to us tq bring back i .prosperity quicker by continuing to buy and spend, for that alone is what will make the wheels go round and find employment for our people.”
