A letter was received from the Buller Union, congratulating the West C-oast flJnion on its representative, fleam’s performance ',in the Ranfurly Shield game. A letter was received from Wellington Union with reference to the W« t Coast tour, which stated that the team would be managed bv Mr Prendevil'e, chairman of Wellington Rugby Union Management Committee.

In this connection, Mr Mclntosh explained that in answer to a request by the President of the Canterbury Union •(iM t McPhail) he gave his personal opinion with regard to a return match between Wegt Coast and Canterbury, but that in regard to the statement that the Coast team had played a game “out of the box’’ his remarks had been misconstrued.
