DOUBLE MURDER

ON MAN’S RELEASE FROM GAOL

An extraordinary drama of vengeance has reached its climax afterfive years of 'waiting. A man named Becker, a well-known .merchant, shot h'is wife >n 1927, but he escaped a conviction for murder, as he was able to prove that she had been unfaithful with a Doctor Boes, ar.l with a goldsmith named Buchholz. The husband was, however, sentenced to a long term of imprisonment for manslaughter, which sentence had recently been commuted for good behaviour.
On Friday last, Becker called at Dr Boes’ .consulting room, and he shot the doctor with a revolver. He then escaped without anyone identifying him, or‘even suspecting him of murder. Becker went straight to the railway station, and took a train for Duisburg, where the goldsmith Buchholz, who was recently married, resided. Becker rang the bell, and Buchholz happened to open the door. Becker then shot him through the heart, blit this tim 6 he' w&s overtaken and was arrested. He confessed to tho 'two murders.
