HOKITIKA R.S.A.

MEETING OF THE EEXCUTIVE. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Hokitika branch of the R.S.A. was held in the club rooms last evening, where there were present: Messrs A. C, Armstrong (chairman), R. Paterson (secretary), C. Bleach, G. A. King, J. L. Menzies, W. E. Brown, R. Appleton, E. Eade, C. Hart, T. Lynch, G. Gilchrist. Apolpgies were received from Messi's T. Cooper and T. Stuart.

The inward correspondence was received and dealt with as follows:

From Mr F. Smith, asking for use of hall on certain dates.—Request acceded to. From N.Z.R.S.A., enclosing badges for new members.—Received,

From Australian Proforming Rights Society re payment of fee for copyright music used in hall.—Account to be paid. From the secretary of the Ross subbranch, enclosing list of new members.

From the N.Z. Association acknowleding list of new members and capitatation fee for same.

From same, regarding the position or a deceased soldier’s widowed mother’s pension.—Secretary to attend to matter.

From same regarding Canteen Funds grant and advising that the sum of £25 had been granted to this branch. It was decided that this sum be expended by the usual method of subsidising private employment. The secretary read a list of accounts and submitted balance-sheets for recent euchre tournaments. —Reports approved.

Four new members were elected to the branch. Three tenders were received for the music for the Okl Tyme Ball and that of Mr E. C. Williams’ orchestra was accepted.
