Bettor: New Zealand butter lias steadily - climbed in the last five weeks from 105 b, 6d to, 110 s 6d, with a steady market. Danish, on th> other hand, hag again been erratic.. Last month there was r. ported a drop of 7s per cwt. owing to pressure to. sell in the United Kingdom becauis© of the poor outlet in Germany, but with the decline in Conti.fental production at t ! . end of August aifd bad weather condn tions, together’ with an Increase in the German quota, the price for Danish advanced as. suddenly as it had dropped and is to-day quoted at 12'ls. The arrivals in United Kingdom from New Zealand are heavy for the next three r(onths but against this Messrs W. and Co. Ltd., cab’e that all Colonial stocks, of butter are well sold up, and this, with the aid of fine' preferential tariff wi'.l assist greatly .towards. a steady market,' but - there is ' a danger of decline in October, should the Southern Hemisphere experience a good '.spring with heavy supplies. In th© 1 ’ meantime there is an Absence <of ,c6'.iy 'demand for f.o.b. buyers 'iin New Zen fend, .but reports from Canada state that 'the. domestic value is advancing and there is a -possibility of buriness with tli© Dominion befqre .fihe. end of the year. ' Cheese': The statistical pOsit'oii at the moment is strong, spot stocks in United (Kingdom '•‘being 50,000 crates lees than this '.time last year' but. afloatr- make good this deficiency.
