According to the Soviet’s oificial newspapers, judges in some districts refuse to. convict peasants charged with stealing grain., arguing that tlie grain does not belong to the Government, but to those who saved. R. This has resulted in. the Izvestia Pravda announcing that the death penalty must be inflicted even more ruthlessly as peasants .are still withholding the Government’s grain quota, Causing a 'serious shortage of supplies to industrial centre.
