STRONG NOTE TO NICARAGUA,
(United Press Association —By Electric
Telegraph—Copyright.)
ißeceived this day at 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, September 9.
The “’Mail” says that Britain is framing a strong note to Nicaragua claiming heavy compensation - 'for the dependents of eleven Britons brutally murdered in Nicaragua since April 1931 by bandits, whose chief, Sandino, seems to have terrorised the Government which lias not attempted to punish murderers.
The most recent murders are' those ,of H. Cooke, and the three His'op brothers, managers of fruit farms. Each •iv an tied to n tree and slowly cut to pieces. The methods of Sandino's bandits are unequalled e ven by the Chinese torturers centuries 'ago. The victims had to listen while the bandits explained what was going to happen to them.
