SUICIDE VERDICT
ACTRESS’ DEATH
COMMENT BY THE CORONER.

“Suicide while of unsound mind,” is the verdict at the inquest on Helen Saintsbury, which thsj Coroner described as a tragedy of loneliness, widowhood and mental distress, coupled with insomnia and some financial anxiety. Evidence showed that her husband’s suicide preyed on her mind.
A London message on September 9th. stated; The! actress, Helen■ Saintsbury, widow of the lata Mr F. W. Rutherford, was found shot dead, dlad in an evening dress, on the floor of her West Enid flat. A charwoman said that Mrs Rutherford was deeply grieved at her husband’s suicide, and constantly read his letters, also her •diary recording honeymoon incidents. Her wounds were -self inflicted. A London message on August .3, stated : —Captain Buckley Rutherford, aged thirty-four, son of the late Sir Ernest, Victor Buckley Rutherford, and husband of Helen Saintsbury, the actress, was found dead in his; dress clothes at the wheeel of his car on a lonely road at Micheldever
