FLOATING STATION

BERLIN, September 9,
The first floating air station in the mid-Atlantic will shortly he established by the North German Lloyd Com-
pany.
Tlie decision has been made by the Company to equip their liner “Westphalen” for permanent stationing between Bathurst and the.lsland of Fernoudo Noronha. , .
The Westphalan will he provided with a landing platform, a petrol store, and spare parts for wireless equipment.
The object of the • floating air star tion is to speed up the Luft Hansa company’s air mail service between Europe and South America. It will also solve the problem of making the service pay, for space that has ,hitherto. been required for the carrying of the petrol will now be available for flight.
