Irving Shalberg the production executive of M.C-.M. studios who was catted to Bern's home said Bern had written- a note indicating suicide, saying; '‘Unfortunately this is the only way out. to make good a frightful Wrong I have done' you, and to wipe out my abject humiliation. You understand last night was only a comedy, Paul.”
