WELLINGTON, September 5.

Negligent Administration of the estate of her late husband, John Merry, in regard to the rents charged for three properties, was the allegation mad© by Mrs Alice Merry against the Public Trustee in the .Supreme Court. She asserted that the Public Trustee lir.d obtained grossly inadequate rents for the properties, and she claimed £2999 as damages.

The plaintiff’s allegations were strongly refuted by the Public Trustee in . the statement of defeube. '

Mr Justice M'acGregor suggested that the matter would be more expeditiously dealt with if it were submitted to an arbitrator who was an expert on such questions. The Count adjourned for a time to enable counsel to confer. It was subsequently announced that the case had been adjourned for further consideration.
