STOLEN NOTE REAPPEARS

A one pound note stolen over four years ago reappeared to its original owner in a remarkable manner while he was shopping in Ivarangahape Road on Friday evening, The note was a New,: Year present to his wife from Mr H. Hamilton, of Gilafbon. It was one of the new issue and Mr Hamilton wrote on the back' of it, “Good Luck for the New Year, 1928.’’ While she was visiting on tbe foil owing drty Mrs Hamilton’s,' hag 'was rilled and the note disappearjd. The thief was arrested, but the money ivas not recovered. Mr Hamilton was greatly surprised to receive the same note from a shopkeeper on Friday with the good luck message still legible.
