ThrrrtTnempToyed Workers’ Committee held a meeting on Monday evening when it was reported that a band concert, assisted by well known artists oi Hokitika, in aid of the unemployed had been arranged to be held in the Town Hall next Sunday evening. It was also stated that a benefit picture night had been arranged for Tuesday, September 13. A good picture programme has been arranged, and it it hoped that publicsupport will be given as all proceeds from these two benefits will be handed to the Ladies’ Unemployment Committee for relief amongst deserving cases in this town.
Patrons of the dancing art are reminded' that to-night the Hospital Bail will take .place in the Soldiers’ Hall commencing at 8.30 sharp, when the indications point to a most enjoyable function. A committee of energetic workers have been busilly occupied in decorating and arranging the usual requirements for the occasion. Music is to be supplied by the Happiness . Boys’ orchestra and nothing further could be desired. To-morrow evening wiliii be- a gala night for, t.he juveniles when their wants and pleasures will bej well catered for.
