Mr E. S. 'Elworthy, of Four Peaks, Geraldine, received painful facial injuries when .some gunpowder, with which he was working, suddenly blew up. The injured man was taken to the Braeside Hospital, Geraldine, and is,re? ported to be progressing satisfactorily.

He was digging, and, on seeing a friend, jmrned quickly to wave his spado in greeting. He slipped and fell heavily to the ground fracturing both bones of the left leg below the knee. j
