FOXTON RAILWAY
LAST. PASSENGER TRAIN.

PALMERSTON NORTH, Aug. 24
The last passenger train to run between Palmerston North and Foxton lc l Palmerston North at 5.35 p.ni. on Saturday night. The engine returned to Palmerston North “light”, leaving the carriages and vans at Foxton to be brought hack by stages at a later date.
The first of the goods trains to run on the, amended schedule commenced this morning. Tn future there will only be a goods train each way, which will not have accommodation for passengers. Tt is understood that the transfer or the Foxton railway staff and the porters at Himatangi and Rnngiotu will take place during this week,
VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY

On a charge of failing to account for £4O I.ls Ed, moneys collected by him or behalf of an insurance company, at Rotorn-, <-n April 29th, Basil Stanislaus Brogan, insurance agent was ‘ V, vrtl not guil'v at his second trial in the) Supreme Court at l!:;milton today. At y- sterelay’s trial, the jury disagreed.
