CHRISTCHURCH, August. 24. G. D. Innes, the Canterbury and New Zealand Rugby representative, to-day gave a definite refusal to , the Auckland Rugby League Club, which had made him an offer to go over to the League Code. first offer was equivalent to. £SOO yearly. It is understood that ah advance was made on this offer tc-day. Innes in the statement to a reporter, said that he did not like to sever his connection with the Rugby Union code, and that he will stay' in hds present position until he can secure an appointment in his profession a schoolmaster.
