Chientao bandits waylaid a caravan,; capturing the Japanese Consul,’ an(j an entire police escort in two, motor ,cais and three buses. - In. the battle to the north-west of Mukden on Sunday and Monday, the Japanese report that four hundred guerillas were killed, while the Japanese casualties (were only twelve. A station near Changehien was attacked, the Japanese railway guards being killed.
