TIN HARE INQUIRY
AN ALLEGATION OF FORGERY.

The outstanding feature at the mechanical hare inquiry to-day was the - allegation by a witness named A. Potter who declared that his signature Was forged on an. agreement to sell a lease of land at Singleton for tin hare coursing in return for three thousand fully paid up shares in a coursing company. The Royal Commissioner directed the witness’ attention to the fact that his signature was witnessed by a man named Hassett, who would be liable to prosecution if the signature were a forgery.
The witness replied that the signature was faked.' He said that Hassett had not witnessed it. The hearing was adjourned.
