Club at Rongotai , aerodrome, Landing and bdmb.ing i competitions were ..contested by. the visitors., The pilots who .-Attended were "Mrs Richmond and Mr R. D. Brown (Hastings); ..Flying • Officer J. M. Buckeridge, Mr J. H. Preston, Mr A. V. Jury, and Mr I. McLaren (Wairarapa); Mr P. Bennett and Mr K. j, Strachan (Wanganui); Major G.' A. C. Cowper and Mr H. C. Walker (Palmerston North); Dr. N. F. Boag and Mr J. Bowler (Blenheim). Mr Jury won the landing competition and Mr Bennett the bombing.. Altliought nobody, succeeded in scoring a direct hit on the (motor-car target, the competition-was'responsible for at least one interesting moment. One of the •competitors dropped his bomb, which contained flour, into the roadway, giving a 'moment’s alarm to a group of spectators who lined the fence. Major jCowper, pilot instructor to .the Manawatu Club, and Flying Officei BucIMKIM ,iii# : ructor to the Wairarapa Club, gave-.-nerobatie displays. . Starting wifli a falling leaf, Majo. Cowper flick lctojjpd and flick rolled, and dived toward a car r.n the aerodrome, zooming , up to a stall turn, and then repeating the msmpcnvre, an exhibition much appreciated by the spectators; Mr L. F. P. Taylor, -of the Wellington Club, provided a gliding display.
