TWO FINES OF £25 IMPOSED

ROTORUA, August 23

Charged with brewing beer without a license, Letitia and Harry Mitton, storekeepers, of Whakarewarewa, appeared before Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., to-day, and on separate charges each defendant was convicted and each fined £25. There was a further charge of selling beer without a license, on which Letitia Mitton was convicted and discharged. Charges of supplying beer to native women were brought against both accused. They were withdrawn.
