INSTALMENT FACILITIES

An immediate response by income tax payers to the facilities afforded for payment of tax in instalments, is regarded 1 as very satisfactory. Hon. G. W. Forbes stated to-day that during the first month they had been on issue, certificates to the value of £32,000 had been purchased. The revenue expected from income tax was stated by Mr Downie Stewart last session to he estimated tentatively at £3,500,000. 1 ' v! ' '" V Y' ''7
