The newspapers are delighted at the success of the war loan, conversion, and express the opinion that it will immeasurably enhance Britain’s power of leadership an the present troublous 'condition of the world affairs.

Lord Snowden says: “The figures represent a magnificent success.” The “Daily Telegraph’s” City Editor says; “The prospects of the complete conversion of the' wihole 2087 millions of war loan stock from 5 to 3| per cent, interest are extremely promising.”

The “Morning Post” says: The conversion represents nearly ninety per cent, of the total. The nation must be warmly congratulated. The Jeremiahs are now confounded by the glory of the. event.”
