FREEZING TRADE
NO PROGRESS IN DISPUTE. (Per,Press Association— Copyright.) AUCKLAND, August 16. No progress was made to-day during the Auckland hearing before ActingConciliation Commissioner Newton, of the dispute, between the employers and the employees in the meat freezing in-: dustry. The application is for a new award. In reply to the employers’ proposals, the Freezing Works and Related Trades Industrial Association of Workers submitted the terms’of their existing agreement. The proceedings to-day ended without settlement being reached. A further conference will be held at New Plymouth on Friday, and another one-at Wellington on August 22.
The dispute is being heard on a Dominion basis, but, in order that each district should be heard, a series of conferences has taken place.
