CHRISTCHURCH, August 16

' 'This is a bit of a bombshell 1 We have fen fire engines, and about £250 will be involved,” explained the Chairman of the Fire Board, Mr T. M. Charters, when advice was received from the City Council that tfie Board’s engines were required to take out heavy traffic., licenses. It was decided .to refer the matter to the Inspector of Fire Brigades, and to the Fire Hoards in the three other centres, to obtain information which might be of assistance in dealing with the request.
