AVIATION CONTESTS

NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA.. AUCKLAND, August 14. “The proposed inauguration of annual contests between teams of aero pilots representing New Zealand and Australia at the aero pageant to be held at Auckland early in 1933 is much favoured hi Sydney and Melbourne,” said Mr E. R. Boucher, who recently returned from Australia. News of the project was brought from Australia by Mr B. Shiel, who said that if the contents could be financed a team of six Australian pilots would attend both the official pageant at Auckland in January next and the official South Island pageant at Christchurch later. A return visit would be made 'by a New Zealand team of pilots to the offioiad pageant in Australia in April.' It would be the firstLiriterDominion competition in the Empire. 'Mr Boucher said that nothing definite has been settled, but the chances of the contests being arranged were favourable. It was a question mostly of finance.
