THREE STOWAWAYS

AUCKLAND, August 8.
Three stowaways were discovered on the .Commonwealth and Domnion line steamer Port Hunter before she left Auckland for London.
After the completion of loading the .vessel left for anchorage. A search resulted in two stowaways being discovered in the ship’s lifeboats anc another wa.s located in a bunk in the firemen’s quarters. Two were onh about 20 and the Other was ten year, older.
The .man found -in the bunk wa making his fifth attempt to stow away Unable to obtain work he was anvion to return to his '.home in England. ■When discovered he was disguised as a f..hip’s fireman and pretended to be asleep. The officer, however, did not recognise him as one of th e ship’s crew, go he sent for the engineer, who immediately established that the man wag a Stranger.
