LANCASTER TRIAL
MRS MILLER’S LOVE AFFAIRS. FACTS DISCLOSED IN EVIDENCE. (United Press Association—By ElectricTelegraph—Copyright.) MIAMI, August 8. Mrs Keith Miller testified to-day that she had become completely disillusioned, and that she no longer loved Lancaster nor the memory or Clarke. She was still very fond of Lancaster I but had not loved him two years. “Weren’t you a traitor to him, if you haven’t loved him for two years, when you wrote to him constantly of your love, while lie was on his western trip, to. get all the money he could for I yon?’! Mr Hawthorn asked. , “You don’t understand qiir situa- 1 tion,” she answered. Mrs Miller wept as she attempted to show Mr Hawthorn how she could be very fond of Lancaster and still not he in love with him. She had told him and Haden many times before they were engaged that, she never expected to marry anyone, but she always felt that, when Bill should be free fromhis wife in England, she would marry him. Mrs Miller again wept as she told of losing her love for the memory of Clarke, after finding out, since his death, that he had lied to he r about many things. . , After a dramatic session featured by a verbal clash between Mrs Miller and Mr Hawthorn, the State this afternoon rested its case.
