Nelson's new Cathedral, which hag been in the course of erection for the past seven years, is so far completed to enable services to be held in the nave yesterday. 'lbis portion was used for the first time, when the Bishop of Nelson preached the first sermon, Tlie building is of great architeetuaJ beauty, and is being built of local marble. When completed, occupying as it does,’an-eminence overlooking the city, and suvrounde-l bv spreading branches of great trees planted by Nelson’s many tree lover,-i, the Cathedra! will bp an inspiring sign for generation* to come.
