Mrs Victor Bruce, accompanied by her husband, ascended from the 'Solent in the giant, three-engined .amphibian, City of Portsmouth, in an attempt to defeat the enduranc 6 record of twentythree days, hoping to remain in the air for a month. They descended an hour later due to an electrical short, circuit.
