Three awards for bravery were made at a meeting of the Court of Directors of the Royal Humane Sooiety to-day. William Harold Nairn Hawke’s Bay) was awatded a. certificate for rescuing two girls from drowning at Porangnhau IJeach. letters of recommendation nre to be sent to. ' Oscar Ramstead, waterside worker, of Wellington, who, on April 29th., rescued a map ffom di;owAiig after he had fallen overboard from the steamer Komata; and Arthur Hinchco, butcher, of On'ehungii, who rescued from drowning a child who had fallen into a clay pit filled with water. Hinchco dived repeatedly until he located tine child, stuck in the mud n.t the bottom of the pit ~ , •;. '
