FLOCK HOUSE

RECEIVING GOOD TRAINING'. “The Flock House scheme appears id he a striking success,’’ said Mr O.L. Ferens; secretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association, who paid a visit to' the institution recently. Mr Ferens was most enthusiastic about the work being carried' out, and said an unique opportunity was-being provided for the boys in; residence-there to learn all brandies of farming. The boys received’ a- thorough grounding iii all branches ,of farming, and Mr Fergus' whs'greatly impressed with the'methods employed; The boys display a keen intfest in their work, he said, and they all look surprisingly fit arid well. Every care is taken of the lads, who in the house are under the charge of a capable matron,- who saw service, during the war. The boys take a turn in the laundry,, in the kitchen, and in keeping the house clean. They are taught to, work and it is doing them a, world., of good. No difficulty is experienced in placing- boys from Flock House, who are much in. demand. Farmers who have employed trainees speak highly of them.’,’ ~ ~ , .j
