MINER’S BESIEGED
SCENE' AT HOOSIER PIT. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright,). DUGMER (Indiana, TJ.S.Ai), July 22. Twenty-seven miners, armed ' witn two machine-guns and other weapons, have fortified themselves on the Hoosier mines plant, where they 'are besieged by 700 union pickets. A few miles away, three companies of National Guardmen are encamped, prepared for any emergency. The imprisoned, miners, non-union men working under a co-operative plan, have been hemmed in on the mine property for more than twenty-four hours, fearful to leave despite grow ing hunger The union pickets are on all sides, apparently unarmed/
