Mussolini has been appointed in Signor Grandi’s place, and also becomes Minister of . Corporations. Other new appointments are: .Justice, Professor de Francisoi; Finance,. Italy was astounded at .the resignations wlileh are accompanied by the resignations of sewa], undoi'-ssct'e-taries. The news was followed by a minor sensation caused by a decree establishing Government control of the stock exchange, enabling- the new Minister of Finance to examine any stock exchange transactions involving the transfer of stock.

It is officially explained tha/t the resignations are due to Mussolini’s scheme cf periodical changes to pw vide new men with but it is rumoured that the failure of Signors Grandi and Mbsconi to secure a clean slate at Lausanne disappointed Mussolini.

Grandi’s resignation has been'whist pered since his return.
