TWO CRACKED RIBS

SERGEANT ASSAULTED. CHRISTCHURCH, Juiy 20. Sergeant J. C. Harrison is at present nursing tivo cracked ribs, as the result of an alleged asau-It yesterday. Desmond Wilson, labourer, aged 33 years, was charged to-day with assaulting the Sergeant and obstructing Constable L. F. Ricketts in the execution of his duty. Wilson was remanded until to-morrow.

Sergeant Fox said the assault happened at a time when the Sergeant and Constable were endeavouring to execute an arrest on another man in the same room as the accused.
