The third day of the conference between the coal owners and representatives fif the West Coast miners’. organisations commenced this morning. A number of clauses, in tlie new agreement were satisfactorily settled and it is expected ;to-day that the owners will submit proposals on others to which the unions’ will no doubt piesent counter-proposals.,; It is not i eKp«cted r otha<fe the a conference will end to-dav, but a conciliatory atmosphere prevails. Both the owners and miners’ representatives are o' opinion that there is no dangei of a, deadlock,, ‘ and' that a satisfactory, agreemelii/; will be the outcome.
