On Thursday, Mr S. A. Harrison, General Secretary of the N.Z. The protest entered by H. Turtill of Greymouth, against the decision of the referee, Mr J. W. Walter, in. the South Island Three Milas Cycle Championship held at Leeston on. Easter Saturday last, has been upheld. Eight riders-in the race were disqualified for apparently not sat ; sfying the referee, regarding pacing. Warren, which took place quietly at tli© residence of her daughter. The deceased was a native of County Kildare, Ireland, and had attained the ripe age of 00 years. .She came to New Zealand over GO years . ago, and; for many years resided at DilJmans, being on© of the 'first at that -rush, With her husband. The latter predeceased her some 23 years ago. Mrs Warren was a good ohurchwoman and was noted for her many kindly actions. She attainted her'faculties to the last, and could recall many interesting happiemigs in Ireland before sh© came out to New Zealand. A- family of two daughters (Mrs J. O’Donnell of Island Bay, and Mrs G. Organ of Westport) and three sons (William of Christohuroh, John of Dtenniston, vand’ Neil of Hokitika)' are left to mourn their less, and to them will be ex-tended-the sympathy of their many friends The funeral -will take place at Hokitika.
