ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE. Yesterday’s fixture at these- yards was' attended by a representative gathering of. West Coast butchers whose choice of operations was confined to 59 fat sheep and 68 head of cattle, the (largest entry for some time. In the cattle pens were a larg e number of runners and these sold really well, making up to 23s and 24s per hundred. There was no quotable change in beef prices, though there was a distinct firming .tendency for best ox lines. Sheep sold well, ewes making to -15 s, a reflection - of the recent improved • wool prices. . ’ W. Jeffries and Co. sold as under :

Sheep : For M. Purcell 25 ewe s at 12s. For F. Butler H ewes at 15s-, 13 at 13s 3d, 2 at 7s <)d. Runners: For Jas. Collett 3 runners at £2 18s, 2 at £2 7s. • For W. Olderpg i2 runners at £2 18s,, 3 at £1 17s, 1 at £1 11s. For W. H. O'Tun 1 runner at £4 Is. For 11. Mebarry 7 runners at £3 6s.

Cattle; For D. Stock 11 steers from £4 2s to £5 12s 6d, 2 heifers, at £4 3s. For R. Olderog 2 steers, from £4-12s 61 to £5 ;ss. For W. H. Chinn 14 -steer' from £4 10s to £5 7s 6’d. For C. Harcourt .7 bullocks at £7 7s 6d. 2 heifers at £7.

Messrs 'M, 'Houston and Co. report:— At yesterday’s fortnightly sale 'at tlicabove yards our entry consisted of 29 head of fat cattle, 'which were- offered Co a good attendance of buyers. There was good competition and the full yard, ing was disposed of at satisfactory prices. The bulk of the yarding comprised light to handy weight steers which gold on an average of 23s 6d per hundred.';.
