BIGAMY CHARGE
MAN COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE: (Per Press Association— Copyright) AUCKLAND, July 18. Charles William Kitson, aged 48, a carter was committed I or-.-sentence today on a charge of bigamy. He married in England in 1905, and went through a. form of marriage in Auck-. land in 1924 with a woman who believed herself to b e his wife till March of this year. ‘ • In her evidence she said that there were three children, and a fourth was expected He had always been good to her and tire children. A detective said that accused was much respected and had never been in trouble before. He- recently received a letter, from his wife in which she said'that she would be sorry if he were prosecuted 'for bigamy. - "* Accused said that, after coming to New Zealand,; he wrote asking his wife to'join 'him, but hg had- not heard from her for. about' three yeais befoie liis seco’id marriage.
