WAGE ADJUSTMENT.
FEDERAL AR BHRATION. (Australian Press, Association.) MELBOURNE. July 12. Judgjsi Deibridge, Chief Judge of the Commonwealth Arbitration Court, delivered an interim award for the pastoral industry. He announced new method of wage adjustment,'the effect of which is that shearers’ pay has been reduced from 32s Gd to 2£>s .Gd per IflO for rams: and 37® 6d per 100 for stud ewes lufdlambs. If rations are found, however, these rates will ho 26s per week less, f ; Judge Diet-bridge pointed out that : ,tO'iattempt to estimate the prospective ' Wages paying capacity in this industry ,fo.r, airy specific period would involve art, 1 estimate of the future prices of w.opl, meat, etc-., which. would be attended with great difficulty. The new rates, which operate three months , from July l*Hh., represent a sight reduction on the old rates.
